Mothering Sunday - 3rd April 2011

Are you looking for a Mothering Sunday gift either for yourself or someone special? If so, look no further. I have a wide range of jewellery to suit a variety of tastes from delicate pendants and Murano hearts to more chunky bracelets and necklaces.
Did you know that Mothering Sunday is celebrated in the UK on the fourth Sunday of Lent, and has been since at least the 16th century? Often called "Mothers Day" it has no connection with the American festival of that name which is celebrated in May.
Mothering Sunday is not a fixed day because it is always the middle Sunday in Lent (which lasts from Ash Wednesday to the day before Easter Sunday). This means that Mother's Day in the UK will fall on different dates each year and sometimes even fall in different months.
Traditionally, it was a day when children, mainly daughters, who had gone to work as domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother and family.
Today it is a day when children give presents, flowers, and home-made cards to their mothers.
